Cayman 27 – There was an overwhelming response from the community after police put out a call for Special Constables.
People from all walks of life lined up at the training office in Governors Square over the weekend to find out if they have what it takes to volunteer with the Special Constabulary.
Cayman 27 crews are told doctors, lawyers and housewives all signed up to do their part to make the community safe.
The RCIPS currently has 85 special constables, but they are hoping to increase the ranks to over a hundred.
The recruitment drive ends on 23 April.
