The annual lionfish roundup is an easy way to get rid of those pesky creatures who have practically invaded Cayman’s waters.
Over the weekend lionfish catchers who have been certified by the Cayman Islands Department of Environment took part in the event where they competed in categories for heaviest catch and smallest lionfish.
During the last roundup just over 500 lionfish were captured. Organizers are hoping this year will be even more successful than the last.
