    A power failure at Television Centre caused outages for WestStar cable customers today (Wednesday, 16 May). WestStar's headend is located in the main plant at Television Centre which lost both it's main power and back-up power around 11:30 a.m. Engineers worked alongside Corporate Electric to get services back up as quickly as possible once power was restored. The outage also caused WestStar to lose internet and phone service for a short period this afternoon. All services were restored by around 1:30 p.m.

New attraction at Cayman Turtle Farm

The Cayman Turtle Farm is hoping to get a major boost from its latest attraction called the Turtle Twister Waterslide.

With cruise ship numbers down last year, Cayman Turtle Farm officials are hoping that both visitors and residents will flock to the new slide that features two sweeping loops and 600 gallons of water per minute pushed down the tube that ends with the riders splashing into the breakers lagoon.

Turtle Farm the CEO of Cayman Turtle Farm tells Cayman 27 “I’ve done some research and were look at what should be the next move to enhance the park and the visitors experiences for our guest and the waterslide was one thing that kept coming up as a top desire for our guest to see that something I wanted to have and we fulfilled their wishes.”

Cayman Turtle Farm officials say the goal is to ensure that the park will be recognized as one of the best attractions in the Caribbean and they are confident the Turtle Twister will help move them in that direction.
