War of words over BT landfill

The war of words over creating a landfill in Bodden Town rages on.

At a public meeting this week, the coalition to keep Bodden Town dump free cited several reasons why their district is the wrong spot. They also argue government isn’t consulting residents before moving the landfill to the area.

But MLA Dwayne Seymour cautions against people opposing the project without all the facts.

Mr. Seymour, you got it all wrong sir, this has nothing to do with political reasons....it was for the respect of your own BT people pertaining their concerns. This was a very important meeting for us all and you let us down by not showing up! In other words It was like we were on the battle field and you left us like the cowards you are to hang and defend for ourselves! That is just how much that you all think about us! If you are not getting the pic as yet let me put it this way....You all are like a bunch of Judas Iscariots that will eat out the same plate with us and then turn around and crucified us! Now that the peoples VOICE has spoken and the peoples VOICE has been heard we have refuse to turn back now for we will not falter... this was not for no wrong reasons for you and all your UDPs money hungry people has mislead your own Caymanian people! We the people vote you all in and we the people stand in UNITY coming 2013 to VOTE you all OUT!!! 2013 is surely gonna be "INDEPENDENTS" year you can best believe that!!!!

When the MLA says that "we even don't have all the information" it really has to make you wonder WHY they are so in favor of the dump moving to BoddenTown.Mr. Seymour claims that the leaders of the coalition are misleading people !?!?!? How can he say that when he admits he doesn't have all the facts yet he is not present to hear the concerns of the district? Mr. Seymour you do not deserve to be an MLA for this district ! You are in the pocket of Dart and care NOT for the residents of BoddenTown you are a disgrace !

If this is a state-of-the-art flitaicy, there should be nothing for the Bodden Town residents to worry about. It is a project that will benefit the whole island. When I visited Cayman in April of 2010, I was astounded that all the Island had was Mt. Trashmore. That is the kind of dump that could be a health hazard to the community. This is definitely a step in the right direction.
