A 35-year-old man and his 32-year-old girlfriend were robbed by 3 thieves at their at their home in the Palm Dale area (off Crewe Road, George Town).
The robbery occurred about 12:30 a.m. “One suspect was armed with a handgun, one armed with a machete and one armed with a knife,” a police spoksperson said.
“A small quantity of cash was stolen, also a white Honda Odyssey motor vehicle was stolen from outside the victims house.”
Police say the suspects are described as:
- Two were about 5 foot 10 inches in height, slim build and had on blue jeans
- One was stocky build, wearing blue jeans
- All had their faces covered and spoke with a Jamaican accent
No shots were fired and no one was injured in the incident. Anyone who has any information regarding the robbery is asked to contact George Town Police Station on 949-4222, the RCIPS tip-line 949-7777 or the confidential Crime Stoppers number 800-8477 (TIPS).
This is the 8th robbery in the Cayman Islands for 2012. All robberies so far this year has occurred at or near a residence with the exception of one.
