Around noon on Monday police in Portmore, Jamaica were called out to investigate the body of a woman that was found buried inside a house.
According to The Gleaner, the operations officer for the St Catherine South Division, Superintendent Clive Blair said the woman was last seen alive almost a week ago.
“We learnt that she has been missing since Wednesday and although an odour was smelled, (the body) was not located until we were called today [Monday, 6 February],” Blair told The Gleaner.
The The Gleaner also reported police confirmed the deceased, Stacey-Ann Smith, a 35-year-old labourer, returned from the Cayman Islands on Sunday (29 January 2012).
“In all my 20-odd years as a policeman, it is the most gruesome murder that I have ever seen. I mean the body was placed in a crocus bag and cemented in the wall,” Blair told The Gleaner.
The Gleaner also reports that “police have placed a woman in custody in connection with the death of her sister, whose body was found buried inside a house in Portmore, St Catherine.
