    A power failure at Television Centre caused outages for WestStar cable customers today (Wednesday, 16 May). WestStar's headend is located in the main plant at Television Centre which lost both it's main power and back-up power around 11:30 a.m. Engineers worked alongside Corporate Electric to get services back up as quickly as possible once power was restored. The outage also caused WestStar to lose internet and phone service for a short period this afternoon. All services were restored by around 1:30 p.m.

Man suspected of being involved in WB burglary string

Police have issued a photograph of a man they want to question in relation to a series of burglaries in West Bay.

Jeovanni Carter Ramirez, aged 19 of West Bay, is suspected of being involved in a number of burglaries which have taken place in West Bay over the past few weeks.
“Carter Ramirez is described as being 5’5” in height, medium build with a dark brown complexion. He has long bushy hair, a beard and moustache,” a police spokesperson said.

Chief Inspector Richard Barrow, the Area Commander for West Bay, said, “Despite intensive police enquiries officers have been unable to trace Carter Ramirez. It’s clear he knows that we are looking for him and has gone to ground. If anyone has any information about his current whereabouts, or knows of anyone who is assisting him, they should contact West Bay CID on 949-3999, the RCIPS Tip-line 949-7777 or Crime Stoppers on 800-8477 (TIPS).”
