    A power failure at Television Centre caused outages for WestStar cable customers today (Wednesday, 16 May). WestStar's headend is located in the main plant at Television Centre which lost both it's main power and back-up power around 11:30 a.m. Engineers worked alongside Corporate Electric to get services back up as quickly as possible once power was restored. The outage also caused WestStar to lose internet and phone service for a short period this afternoon. All services were restored by around 1:30 p.m.

Anglers reel in record swordfish

Local sport anglers continue their rapid chase of world records with another splendid catch.

Scorers of onlookers arrive at the Barcadere Marina Thursday evening to get a glimpse of a swordfish caught off South Sound. A catch so big that to prove its size, star fisherman Charles Ebanks cuddles alongside it for measurement.

It was all hands on deck to get this hefty catch on the scales, which read 392 pounds and took 14 hours to catch –capping off a bountiful week for the fishermen.
