Let’s Talk Sports for March 8th

Women’s football gets a boost thanks to a partnership with FC Indiana – one of the most successful professional football clubs in the US. The head coach of FC Indiana and the head coach of Grace University Soccer are in Cayman scouting talent and looking at the possibility of player exchange programmes. Grace will be playing combined local teams the 12th, 14th, and 15th at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex.

The local volleyball federation is in high gear as they prepare for the NORCECA Beach Volleyball tournament being held on Seven Mile Public Beach March 23rd – 25th. Organisers say expect the best of the best from countries like the US, Canada, and Mexico. This is a qualifier for the Olympics so the competition will be fierce and while Cayman’s teams are not in the running for London, they can still earn valuable points.

We also talked about how well the Truman Bodden meet went, and Harcourt Wason did reveal that Chantelle Morrison will be representing Cayman at CARIFTA although they were still quite hush, hush about who else has made the cut.
