By the time Cayman 27 crews got on the scene, fire officers had the blaze under control.
Fire officials say they were pleased with the rapid reaction of people in the area who contacted 9-1-1 without hesitation.
The RCIPS turns its attention to youngsters, in a bid to get them interested in joining the ranks. Students from John Gray and Clifton Hunter high schools, and Prospect and Red Bay Primary schools get the chance to see what a day in the life of an officer is really like.
