Latest news for the budget crisis

The Governor’s Office confirms a Foreign and Common Wealth Office (FCO) economist is still on Island helping government come up with a budget the UK will approve.

The FCO sent Richard Holmwood to do the job after government could not produce what the FCO calls a sustainable budget.

It was anticipated Mr. Holmwood would be on Island a week. However it has been over 10 days now.

In the meantime, government has passed an emergency interim spending plan of 127 million. It expires at the end of August.
