Tropical Depression 7 forms

Tropical Depression 7 has formed in the Atlantic Ocean.

The depression is moving in the direction of the Lesser Antilles and is forecast to become a tropical storm by the time it reaches the islands late Saturday into Sunday.

The next named storm in the Atlantic will be given the name “Gordon”.

It is too early to tell if the Cayman Islands will face the weather system. Weather forecast models say the cyclone will be in the Cayman area around Wednesday or Thursday next week.

Cayman 27 will monitor the cyclone’s progress. Be sure to check out the Cayman Weather 24/7 channel for the latest information.
