Tropical Storm Watch lifted, flooding still possible

At 2 p.m. the Cayman Islands National Weather Service and the National Hazard Management Executive Committee lifted the Tropical Storm Watch for the Cayman Islands. The announcement came just before 3 p.m.

At 1 p.m. Tropical Storm Isaac was located near 20.8 N. 75.3 W. or about 40 miles north of Guantanamo Bay Cuba. Isaac is moving towards the northwest at 17 mph with maximum sustained winds of 60 mph. Minimum central pressure is 1000 MB. Storm force winds extend outwards up to 205 miles.

Locally heavy rain showers are still possible and this could lead to flooding in low-lying areas. Seas will be rough with wave heights of 4 to 6 feet and a small craft advisory is in effect.
