A 56-year-old man, who was arrested in February 2013 on suspicion of a number of fraud related offences, has now been charged and is due to appear in court.
In March, law firm Solomon Harris says the suspect is their former employee Michael Levitt. Cayman 27 previously reported his age as 57-year-old, but his age was amended in the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service’s last press release.
“The Canadian national has been charged with two counts of theft, totalling just over $US 500,000 which occurred while he was employed by a local accounting firm,” according to police.
He is expected to appear in court later today, Thursday 4 April 2013.
