WSPA to meet with government

The World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) is hoping to continue pressing its case against the Turtle Farm when it meets with government later this week. A WSPA representative told Cayman 27 the team is due to hold talks with government on Friday to follow up on previous meetings.

We also understand they will be requesting a ban on the sale of turtle meat to tourists.

WSPA has said in the past there is overcrowding at the farm, and has been lobbying the new government to make changes.

Earlier this year, the UK-based charity claimed only a few token improvements have been made to the West Bay facility.
