A woman who dedicated her life to education was honoured during a special renaming ceremony of the West Bay library and learning centre.
Emily Redley Powery, known to many in the community as teacher Redley was an education pioneer. Those who knew her say she spent her life instilling Christian values in the children of West Bay and teaching them about the importance of education.
Teacher Redley passed away in 1970, but for all her students including Premier the Honorable McKeeva Bush, her legacy will live on.
