Woman injured during robbery

A woman was assaulted and robbed in George Town last night (1 February) after being hit with a baton.
Police say the victim was walking near Slate Drive just before 11 p.m. when a man carrying a baton approached her from behind. The man hit her with the baton, pushed her to the ground and stole her hand bag. He then took off in the direction of Helen Drive.
The woman was slightly injured, but she did not require any medical attention.
Police have released some details on the suspect. They say he is around 5 ft 11 in and he was d
ark skinned. He was dressed in dark clothing and had his face covered with a shirt.
George Town detectives are investigating and they appealing for witnesses to come forward.
