Jobless civil servants still on payroll update
Posted Fri, Feb 5th 2010, 18:09(Grand Cayman - CITN) -
Deputy Governor Donovan Ebanks speaks out about the high ranking civil servants who aren't working but are still getting paid big bucks.
Former education ministry secretary Angela Martins, former health ministry chief officer Diane Montoya and ex-deputy financial secretary Deborah Drummond are still receiving pay at a grade c scale –which means they would normally earn between $127,000 and $147,000 per year.
The women were released from their jobs last year following the May general elections.
Mr. Ebanks says it's been a trying situation for all involved and he has brought up the situation already with Governor Duncan Taylor.
