Information Commissioner refuses to release Tempura documents
Posted Tue, Mar 9th 2010, 08:28(Grand Cayman - CITN) -
Jennifer Dilbert, the Information Commissioner for the Cayman Islands, has released her second Decision made under the Freedom of Information Law (2007) which came into force on January 5, 2009.
This decision (Decision 2 – 01109) was the result of an access request that was made by a media applicant who was refused access to a report filed by Martin Bridger relating to the arrest of Mr. Justice Alexander Henderson during Operation Tempura.
The Information Commissioner upheld the Public Authority’s decision to refuse access to the responsive record and found that the record requested by the applicant is exempt from disclosure under the Freedom if Information Law, 2007 (“FOI Law”) because it was covered by legal professional privilege.
