Roy McTaggart has been appointed as Councillor in the Ministries of Finance and Financial Services. Premier Alden McLaughlin, said: “Mr. McTaggart has indicated his willingness to serve the country and his constituents as a member of the Government and in the spirit of inclusion that has characterized the Progressives Government, we welcome him to the team.”

The Auditor General says he's concerned some of his reports aren't changing government's management of finances. It's been 30 years since the Auditor General's Office was created in the Cayman Islands.

The new government says its still trying to figure out what to do about two civil servants who were asked to leave four years ago but are still being paid. Diane Montoya and Deborah Drummond held senior positions in the previous PPM administration and they remain on the civil service payroll.

Coalition for Cayman says it is declaring itself as successful in its six-month campaign to bring change in the Legislative Assembly. Three C4C endorsed candidates won seats: Tara Rivers, Roy McTaggart and Winston Connolly.

Premier Hon. Alden McLaughlin announced his new Cabinet line up at a press briefing Tuesday. Hon. Minister Kurt Tibbetts will now head up Planning, Agriculture, Housing and Infrastructure. Hon. Minister Osbourne Bodden has taken on the Health Ministry among his other portfolios. Hon. Minister Tara rivers is now in charge of both Education and Employment, along with Gender Affairs. The Premier is also responsible for Home and Community Affairs.

New members have been appointed to the Public Accounts Committee. The group that examines government's account reports will be chaired by George Town MLA Roy McTaggart. It will also consist of two People's Progressive Party members, two independent "Coalition for Cayman" endorsed lawmakers and United Democratic Party leader, West Bay MLA Hon. McKeeva Bush.

Premier Alden McLaughlin has been summoned to London for discussions with the UK over Cayman's transparency on tax agreements. At a press conference earlier this week, Mr. McLaughlin said he hopes to use the time there to discuss Cayman's budget and whether the UK will relax its strict budget controls.

Successful West Bay candidate Tara Rivers said on radio Monday she felt like "Cayman's Most Wanted" and the atmosphere at the Sir John A. Cumber School hall that night seemingly validated her point, as she pretty much indicated she would be accepting an offer to serve as a Cabinet minister.

Voters head to the polls to cast their choice for leadership in the Cayman Islands. In the first two hours of polling, 20% cast their vote at stations across the islands. Once combined with mobile and postal ballots, almost 27% have decided who they would like to return to the Legislative Assembly as a member.
