Bodden Town landfill continues to spark concerns

The proposed Bodden Town landfill continues to spark concerns.

A Bodden Town coalition group says it strongly opposes the dump being relocated to their district because they’ve uncovered some very disturbing facts.

They’re also concerned about the lack of openness from those involved with the project. Group members say they want government to solve the mount trashmore problem where it is without contaminating a new site.

A door to door campaign has started informing area residents about the proposed dump.

News27: The picture of the Waste Management Facility - could you enlarge it, so we could see clearly the projected plans. I cant make out the reading of its sections. But I would like a clear description as to where it is proposed to be located on the map and a design of it . Looking at the picture, it looks like it is right next to Midland Acres, because they do have a man-made pond in the back of Midland Acres and the Waste Management facility looks like it is right next to their pond, which concerns me alot about waste in liquid form sapping into the wet lands, contaminating nature reserves there. There are all kinds of bird species that lives in these parts, and contaminated wetlands is not a good thing. As well, not for people's health.

Hey T, I tried to email you directly, but the email address you submitted did not work. The best way for you to get a good idea of the location of the Waste Manage Facility is by going to the ForCayman website. http://www.forcayman.com/the-projects/wmf/ I hope this helps so you can get a better idea of the proposed project.
