Jeffers appeals conviction

Raziel Jeffers has appealed his murder conviction. He’s hoping to become a free man again after new evidence suggests that one of the key crown witnesses lied during the trial.

A grand court judge found Jeffers guilty of the murder of Marcus Ebanks and the attempted murder of four others in February.

The 2009 Bonaventure shooting in West Bay also paralysed then 14-year-old Adryan Powell.

The appeals tribunal is expected to make a decision next week.
