Brac garbage woes

We turn to a garbage dispute in the Brac that has one person saying Environmental Health needs to step in.

Kerry Tibbetts says garbage is causing a rat infestation in her mother’s house on Walton Drive in Spot Bay. She says this garbage is from the private property next to her mother’s house.

Ms. Tibbetts says it’s not just her mother’s house that’s affected on the street.

She says she’s been e-mailing the Department of Environmental Health (DEH) since December about the problem, but has received no response.

However, today we received a response from the DEH director who tells us the situation is being properly addressed and he is getting advice from government’s Legal Department.
